A Successful (FUN) Season!, News, U8 - Team 1, 2014 (Howick Minor Soccer)

This team had LOTS OF FUN and showed A LOT OF PROGRESS with their soccer skills this season!  It is fun to coach when kids are excited about coming to practices and when you can see them applying what they are learning in the games!  

Thank you to all of the parents and families who helped to make this year a success!  I think I can speak for Coach Bryan as well when I say, it was a pleasure :)  Also, thank you to Tammy Smith for being our parent rep this year.

Some fun info...
- Our team finished the regular season with the best record of any Howick team (6-3-1)... impressive!
- There was an "official" tie between the parents and the kids during our last practice... parents won under 'most goals win', kids won under 'last goal wins' rules.
- Over half of our players scored at least one goal throughout the season... several players scored many times!
- Our defence and goaltending were both very strong!
- Playing positions and passing the ball became a strong skill for all of our players by the end of the season... and...
- Although it was VERY close, we had no goals scored by headers... which would have resulted in me buying the whole team icecream... phew ;)

I may not see you at the year end banquet (Wed nights are pretty busy at our house)... so enjoy the rest of your summer!
