Howick wins first playoff game !
Submitted By hpruden on Wednesday, July 25, 2012
Howick hosted Palmerston for our first playoff game and came away with a hard fought 2-1 victory. Howick opened the scoring in the game with a rebound goal from Carly Kreller who drilled it for a 1-0 lead. Tyler Haden had a shot on net which the goalie stopped but Carly picked up the rebound.

Nigel Versteeg made  excellent saves in net to take the lead into the half. Palmerston tied up the game on a penalty shot to even the score at 1. With 10 minutes left Susanna  scored her first goal of the year on a scramble in front of the Palmerston net off a corner kick from Nigel. That proved to be the game winner as Howick's defence closed the door and Alex played awesome in net in the second half.

" The team stepped up today and played hard with great pursuit on the ball. The passing is getting better and we are looking forward to getting the rest of the team back for the balance of the playoffs. 2 more big games this Saturday to finish the season and looking forward to bringing home the trophy.

Let go Howick ! "
